Twitmeter: Ranking Literary Magazines

One of my criteria for comparing the literary magazines (or any other entity for that matter) has always been their online presence. The number of followers on Twitter is a good metric, if not enough. I decided to write a script to count the number of followers of a list of prominent magazines on an hourly basis and sort them in a table. What you see below is the result of that work. Obviously, this is not an absolute measure of the quality (you'll see some prestigious names at the bottom of this table), but I'm hoping that it encourages magazines to spend more time promoting themselves on the Internet, even if they're available only in print.
  • note 1: The logos and the journal titles come directly from their Twitter profile.
  • note 2: I took the liberty of using @NYerFiction instead of @NewYorker, as I found it more relevant.
  • note 3: Let me know if you want to see some specific journal on the list.
